Dead Door Unit "Beware a Pleasant Memory" Cassette (French Market Press)

“Beware a Pleasant Memory” is the first entry in the Dead Door Unit discography to showcase the aggression & unpredictable nature the project brings to the live arena. The first set took place back in 2023, during the project’s infancy, in Philadelphia, PA @ Space 1026 on a bill that featured Scathing, T.E.F., Total Sweetheart, Daniel Ryan, Princess Haultaine III & R. Buttrum. Early demonstrations of tape mangling, mixer feedback & vocal exercises that have become hallmarks of the project are all on fiery display here.
Set #2 is the most recent DDU performance that took place at the White Cliffs Maintenance Center in Conoy Twp., PA. A once glorious hub for railroad operations in the central region of the Keystone State was used as the instrument for this spontaneous performance. A number of interested onlookers stopped their daily routine to examine the source of these sounds until the performance was finally shut down by local authorities.

Edition of 31 recycled tapes that have been spray painted gold & red and housed in either a standard norelco case or storage bag (you will not get a choice in selecting which one you receive). Each copy comes with a unique photograph taken by the artist across various years of travel. Dates unknown.
